Light up a Life 2021

You can make a Light Up a Life dedication in memory of a loved one. Loved ones names appear in our Book of Remembrance, which is kept on our Reception and you are very welcome to come and view this at any time.

We would be grateful for any donation, that will help us to continue caring for people with a life limiting illness and supporting their families, over Christmas.

Jersey Hospice Care are delighted to provide the virtual service completely free, providing an opportunity for friends and family, locally and around the world, to come together to remember loved ones. Islanders are also being offered to sign up for a free “Light Up A Life At Home” box with thanks to sponsorship from De Gruchy’s Funeral Care, Maillards and Pitcher and Le Quesne. This will include the Order of Service, two “Memory Christmas Tree Tags”, and a small candle. Recipients of the box are invited to write a dedication on one of the tags and to send it back to Hospice to go on the “Memory Christmas Tree” at Clarkson House and keep one for themselves. Also during the service, the lights of the Christmas tree in the garden at Hospice will be turned on for the first time ahead of the festive period.

The deadline to sign up for an ‘At Home’ pack and to have your dedication displayed during the event is Wednesday 1 December

Our Light Up a Life event is a special remembrance service, which gives people the chance to gather with friends, family and the wider community to pay tribute to those they have loved and lost.

The service is for anyone who wants to remember a loved one. We welcome people of all faiths and no faith and the service is for anyone who wishes to attend, regardless of how long ago your loved one died and whether or not they received care from Jersey Hospice Care.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday 4 December,  starting at 17:00 and will be available via a live stream to allow you to watch from home
